People treat themselves to New Zealand holidays very often, and they should? It is beautiful island country and a peaceful destination. You would expect that in a place where there are more sheep than people though! I plan to visit Wellington one day and have been researching the area for a while. I never realised that so many famous people hail from NZ! Here are just a handful of them¦
Anna Paquin: You probably know her as “Sookie”, or as the women who gets naked in nearly every episode of HBO romance meets vampire violence show True Blood. Paquin has also acted in XMen films as the character Rogue and won an Oscar for her work in The Piano.
Bret McKenzie & Jermaine Clement: These 2 get lumbered together for they make up the folk comedy stylings Flight of the Conchords. The 34 and 37 year old (respectively) couple have not only had a successful album release and two HBO television series but they also recently starred in an episode of The Simpsons, in which they voice two camp counsellors.
Peter Jackson: It would be awfully wrong not to give the Lord of The Rings director Jackson a mention in this article. He is the genius behind other blockbuster hits King Kong and comedy horror The Frighteners. Jackson has an obvious love of the island, choosing to film both The Frighteners and also the LOTR series there entirely.
Rachel Hunter: Reality TV star and model Hunter recently appearing on the BBC Strictly Come Dancing toe tapping television show hails from NZ. The Playboy favourite has also starred in several film including Two Shades of Blue and The Benchwarmers. I really wish that she would take a fly drive New Zealand trip and stay there us Brits have had more than enough of her exploits!
I wonder if celebrity homes and/or favourite haunts of theirs are named and shamed during New Zealand tours.
