Winston Churchill
Did Winston Churchill look like the type to really ever get angry much?

how he looked like he would handle any type of irritation or anger? and was it because he was a gentleman or what would you say it was about his personality?

which scene from his life would you think he would have felt the most angry and why?

please explain what you can.

p.s. is it true that Winston Churchill went around viewing homes in London that were destroyed and shouted “We can take them” to a crowd and was shouted at by the people in the audience? why ,when, how this happened,? (heard this in the World at War series)

thanks for your answers!

Churchill was a brilliant orator and a crafty, ruthless politician who through a mixture of luck, ego and hard work was the right man in the right place at the right time in history.

He was also an ordinary human being, prone to great tempers, possibly a borderline alcoholic and maybe bi-polar. Certainly he suffered greatly from depression, what he famously called his “Black Dog”.

Churchill achieved great things, especially during the dark days of 1940-41, but he was also a bully and a self-publicist. He made many mistakes throughout his career, most notably the doomed Gallipoli campaign in World War I but also serious errors of judgement at various points in World War II. All I’m saying is don’t put him (or anyone else) on a pedestal in this way. You may not intend or realise it, but you actually demean their achievements.

P.S. The reference to the quote, I think it was “We can take it” – referring to the propaganda slogan during the Blitz, “Britain Can Take It”.
