Victoria World

is the victoria cross as awarded by the brits to its combatants the highest award in the world?
its just that when you read about the guys that get it awarded its seems most of them died and the rest were borderline suicidal .and why do they keep on about this guy paddy mayne!
wow only100 in all those years!
The reason that a lot of those who received the medal died is because it is awarded for outstanding courage and bravery. Many of those who received the award died carrying out these acts of bravery, which saved the lives of many others.
Paddy Mayne was one of the heroes of WW2

and this is why many people believe he should have been awarded the VC (indeed, King George expressed surprise at him not getting it).
