BlackBerry threatened the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabias ban on
BlackBerry users in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia may find less than useful phones, if Proposed bans on in the two Gulf states to go forward. Everyone is happy with the use of encryption with their RIMs servers, making it impossible to monitor the status of data services used by the owners of the BlackBerry, it is alleged that the UAE telecoms regulator tried to load spyware on BlackBerry phones in 2009, to move, which proved to be ineffective.
This is not the first time we saw the BlackBerry messages identified because of the encrypted data. Back in 2008, India threatened to plug RIM BlackBerry servers, unless the opening minutes of encryption at the time suggested that militants may use the smartphone to communicate in an uncontrolled manner by the security agencies.
Saudi Arabia is the prohibition to kick off later in August, while non-UAE will not be extended to 11 October. Both countries claim that their motivation is down to non-compliance with the provisions of the UAE telecommunications and not censorship. For its part, RIM has refused comment.
