How can I get records of a WWII veteran?
My great uncle (deceased) won the Silver Star in World War II and is now buried at Arlington National Cemetery. I have a copy of his original Silver Star certificate but several key details such as his unit and the location of the event are redacted (edited out). How can I obtain the unknown details of his Silver Star certificate (location and unit), as well as other basic information of his military service (unit, years of service, etc)?
