gold hammer and sickle coin, 10pts to anyone who can help?
okay so i found two coins my grandpa gave me when i was younger and i was just trying to figure out what they are.
description:
-they’re both gold (they look gold and the little plastic thing around them says 8k gold on it)
-they’re very small, about the size of my pinky nail
-on the back is a hammer and sickle with what looks like olive branches around them. around that is writing and it’s too tiny to read and in another language.
-on the front is a guy standing with his legs apart. theres also some writing about his head.
i’d just like to figure out what they are, so 10 points to anyone who can help me out.
Well if they were coins there would be a date and a denomination on them. The gold coin listing from the old Soviet Union are .500 or higher in gold content. 8 KT gold is very little gold and a lot of something else. It is about 1/3 gold 3/4 non gold. I can not find the item in coin books so it must be a medal or a token of some kind. Without seeking it no one can help you for more info is needed.
