Set Mint
How to set screen resolution in Linux Mint?

Now my monitor supports 1920×1080 but in the settings, you can’t go as high as that. Is there any other way to change it? I’m sure theres a configuration file you can edit for this?

Open Terminal and submit the following commands

cd /etc/X11/
sudo cp xorg.conf xorg.conf.bak
sudo gedit xorg.conf

Under SubSection “Display”
Modes
add “1920×1080″ to the the beginning of that resolution list

Save the changes in gEdit and reboot Mint. Once you login, try to change the resolution to 1920×1080 in the regular Display settings manager.
