Russian Soviet
Is anyone familiar with Post-soviet era Russian rock music?

I was at a workshop on Russian, and they showed us some examples of Russian music videos. One of these was a video that was done in drawings. It talked of national pride and called for the return of Alaska to Russia, I have searched everywhere and can’t find the band or the name of the song

Maybe you mean this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94eV8kkFI3A&feature=related ?
The band is called “Lyube”, and the song’s name is something like “Don’t play the fool, America!”: “Don’t play the fool, America! You must be feeling so cold, take the warm felt boots! Sibir and Alaska are the same shores of chicks, salmon, vodka and harmonica” and refrain “Give back the land of Alaska, give Alaska back!” and so on. It’s just a stupid funny comic song, with no special meaning. This song is about 10 or even 15 years old, the band and the song are now largerly forgotten, and the music there hardly resembles rock.
