my poem? is it any good?
hey, im writing a poem about k-3 grade for my english glass. im in 8th grade FYI….. k b honest! here it is.
On the first day of school,
I thought it was going to be really cool.
Learning the abc’s and 123′s.
But when I got there I started to cry,
I wasn’t so sure I wanted to try this anymore.
Then my teacher Mrs. Roubles taught me how to read,
And before you knew it I was reading with a great speed!
When first grade came along,
My teacher Mrs. Zesch taught our class a song.
and thats all i have so far… – - ♥
Well, you rythmed. I wouldn’t focus on that part though; it can almost take away from the poem if it is used poorly. Try putting more feeling into it, not just facts. With what you have, I could see this turning out good, I like the story; there just isn’t much emotion (school can be scary and over-whelming, so try incorporating those feelings or thoughts; go into more detail of what you remember). If you tried focusing on just one thing instead of shoving a bunch of experiences into this poem, I think it would be much better.
