- increased museums, awareness and accessibility of these museams
- ongoing beautification of houses and colonial buildings
- tours through city
- tourism-focused business, activities, transport
- tourism development in the nearby towns of Progreso, Valladolid, and Izamal Tinum
Campeche has recently carried out a similar process, placing all wiring underground, and investing in painting and improving facades of all buildings in the colonial center.
Other than the pleasure of living a very charming atmosphere, these two cities also offer the following benefits:
- low real estate prices (homes as low as $50,000 USD)
- very low cost of living
- colorful, vibrant culture – festivals, live traditional music, etc.
- art galleries and shows
- up-to-date hospitals (with very accessible prices)
