QEII’s funeral…. will it “top” Diana’s?
I thought Diana’s “send-off” was the most wonderful funeral imaginable….British ceremony at it’s very best….every detail just gorgeous…and most especially, the music. Simply lovely…
How will they ever top this for the Queen??
I’ve read historical records of how people behaved when Elizabeth I died, it was said that people were in a state of shock and felt like an era had ended because the first Elizabeth had too been Queen for a very long time.
Change is scary so when someone has been your head of state for that long and poof they’re gone and a new person has to step in its mind jolting. A lot of things will change rapidly; new face on money, new name in national anthem, planning will begin immediately for a new coronation in a year’s time, vast changes might even be enacted right away to the monarchy itself by the new monarch.
It will be a massive funeral of truly astounding grandiosity. The queue to walk past her coffin will be insane. Personally I’m dreading it because I know every nutter republican from here to Vancouver will see it as their time to scream as loud as they can before the new monarch gets settled.
