Proof British
How much money for proof of income support to settle in the UK as husband/ unmarried partnr to british citizen?

my partner and I have 2 daughters. I have an unsuccessful settlement application in appeals right now. I didn’t show proof of living 2gether for 2 years continuous on the application. and the proof of adequate income of support. I have good money in the bank though.

If you are applying as an unmarried partner you must submit evidence in the form of official correspondence of at least two year’s cohabitation. This evidence can be joint bank statements, rent or mortgage agreements, council tax bills, utility bills etc. You need at least six separate pieces of evidence dated throughout the two year period.

Without knowing more bout your circumstances, it’s not possible to be more specific than the guidelines Truth has outlined. However, if the British citizen is not working, or is on benefits, it may be hard to get a settlement visa approved as the British citizen must be able to prove that they have the resources to support their dependents without recourse to public funds (benefits). The non British partner cannot claim any benefits and the British partner cannot claim a penny more as a result of the non British partner’s presence in the household.

Proof of adequate income is your employment contract, six month’s payslips and bank statements.
