Post War

How did the genocide of Jews and human rights violations during the WWII affect the post-war…….?
How did the genocide of Jews and human rights violations during the WWII affect the post-war international human rights protection?
To fully address your question would take a Ph.D. thesis!
I will mention one item… Israel
Israel was created by the UN out of guilt for allowing the Nazis to murder one-third of the world’s population of Jews. Israel had been promised to the Jews very early in the 20th century. The British promised the Jews a country of their own, and then went back on all their promises. It was only after the murder of more than 6 million Jews, that the gentile world felt enough guilt that they created a territory for the Jews.
Anyone that looks at what this small country has accomplished in just 60 years can only be amazed at the Jewish will, their fortitude, and their intelligence!
Jews that migrated to the USA after the war also had an enormous impact on almost evey facet of American life!
Maybe others will answer on other aspects.
Good luck,
Jeffrey

Love Letter [VHS] $3.95 No one with romantic tendencies will be able to resist The Love Letter. Campbell Scott plays a Civil War buff who buys a desk from that era. While polishing it, he discovers a secret compartment, in which sits an unmailed letter–a letter written by a young woman named Lizzie (Jennifer Jason Leigh) over a century earlier. Touched by her yearning for passion, he writes her back, egged on by his mys… |

Casablanca [VHS] $2.50 A truly perfect movie, the 1942 Casablanca still wows viewers today, and for good reason. Its unique story of a love triangle set against terribly high stakes in the war against a monster is sophisticated instead of outlandish, intriguing instead of garish. Humphrey Bogart plays the allegedly apolitical club owner in unoccupied French territory that is nevertheless crawling with Nazis; Ingrid Berg… |

Mister Roberts [VHS] $2.55 Henry Fonda re-created his Broadway hit for this 1955 film that was mostly directed by Fonda’s frequent collaborator, John Ford (Young Mr. Lincoln, My Darling Clementine)–an ailing Ford was replaced at some point by Mervyn LeRoy–and the results are exceptionally fine. A perfect cast, including James Cagney’s irascible captain, William Powell’s thoughtful physician, and Jack Lemmon’s Oscar-winnin… |
