Portugal Angola
October 22nd, 2005

Is it a coincidence that groups are paired with the Colonizing Country vs. The Colonized?

Portugal-Angola (Portugal colonized Angola.)
France-Togo (France colonized Togo.)
England-Trinidad & Tobago (England controlled T&T.)
Are these just coincidences?
Well, I’m willing to believe it’s just a coincidence. But it does make for some interesting background on the games. Everyone seemed to make a bigger deal out of the Portugal-Angola game than the others, not entirely sure why… But this gives me a good idea for my own question…
