Would you say this person was rude?
If you offer them coffee and cake from the special and say you may have enough but will just check. You search through your coin purse frantically, seeing if you have enough. They say ” I don’t feel like coffee and cake, I will have a piece of that pie and an iced chocolate”. They see you searching for money and don’t seem to care it is $4.50 more than the special you offered them. You don’t quite hear them because you realised you spent more and can only afford one special and ask again. They get annoyed and say it again, then they are off at a table waiting. How do I deal with this?
It’s rude because your friend was inconsiderate. I don’t think that person is your friend. Who behaves that way and thinks that it’s acceptable? Your friend exhibited no empathy at all.
I would have rescinded the offer. I’m sorry but I was just offering coffee and cake.
It behooves me how self-centered some people truly are.
If it were me then I would say that is very kind, why thank you. I would treat them to coffee and cake another time.
