how much is this 1948 Mexican coin worth?
on the front says: cinco pesos, 30 gramos ley 0.900.m 1948
back says: estados unidos mexicanos.
basically, it is a 1948 coin of 30 grams pure silver.
also, based on an answer i received , … i’m not just asking the value of silver – that’s a set market value. i mean the value of this as a collectible. it’s much more valuable than the price of the silver. i also have an Olympic year one, th eyear the Olympics was in mexico city.
Depending where you go will determine the price. If it says 0.900 it is not pure silver and does have a slight amount of other metal. Right now an ounce is worth about $10.00. Convert 1 ounce to grams and you should be close to actual cost of the silver, but the coin in good condition may or may not bring you more $$$
