Do you think it would look odd to use an antique vanity table as my TV stand in my room?
I have a built-in vanity in my bathroom, so the vanity table isn’t purposeful but I don’t want to get rid of it because it’s really pretty and well-made. I hate the way normal entertainment centers / TV stands look, so I was thinking of removing the mirror and putting the TV on top. I’d replace the bench with a velvet storage ottoman that can also be pulled out and used as extra seating for friends.
Do you think that would look weird? My room isn’t set up like a normal room, btw. It’s got a bedroom nook, then a huge space that really looks more like a living room from a house or something. So, this would go in the “living room” area.

You might want to think about putting something underneath the TV to protect the wood from heat and dust that builds up quickly around a TV from static electricity. A cut piece of glass to cover the top of the vanity could work nicely. It can be custom cut to order at a glass supply shop for a few dollars.
