Who was Ted Clark in reference to this coin?
I have a coin that was purchased a few years ago. Its an 1853/4 Arr & Rays 25C and it it was certified by NGC. It is certified as a “Ted Clark”. Im not exactly sure what that means. Can someone let me know who he was/is and how he is involved with this coin?
I have only been able to find one link on a site about a Ted Clark who found an error on some coins a few years back but I cant find anything else.
Lots of Points for anyone that knows! ; )
Thanks!
It seems the coin you have did not sell in a July 20 2004 auction and has been in a few auctions since. Ted Clark who has passed on was know as Mr. Overdate, he had a very large coin collection of over date coins. Like most coin collections, on the passing of the owner they end up being sold at auctions or private sales. You have one that was part of his collection so that was put on the slab by NGC. He was well know in numismatic circles.
