Modern Coin

how did money originate in society and evolve into modern paper and coin money?
Money originated during the High Middle Ages (1000-1300), during which time more and more people were being educated, feudalism was falling, and merchants were starting to come to power. The Silk Road and the water route to India and China allowed European and Asian merchants to trade with each other.
Trouble was, Asian merchants used gold and European merchants used silver.
To come up with a solution, banking families originated in Italian ports to equal everything out. They started developing money that was used as exchange for the two types of currency. This soon led to them being as or more powerful than the merchants, and the whole process got started. Soon, other countries figured out that they could use a nationalized currency and did so. As they colonized different parts of the world (during the 16-1800′s), the practice of standardized currency became widespread.
There are many other instances of coin and paper money use – Roman Empire, China, various African and Asian cultures…but that’s where the modern practice came from and spread.
