Merchant Coin

can someone tell me what this coin is?
its hard to get a good pic cuz of the rust and wht not but…
It is copper and about the size of a half dollar
on one of the sides it says
THE RETAIL
MERCHANTS ASSN.
WELCOMES YOU TO
LOUISVILLE
A SUPERIOR SHOPPING CENTER
KENTUCKY HOSPITALITY
on the other side there is a pic of a bridge in the middle of the writing and it says
TO COMMEMORATE THE OPENING
LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL
BRIDGE
NOV.1929
at the bottom it says
THREE MINUTES FROM
SOUTHERN INDIANA TO
THE HEART OF LOUISVILLE
it doesnt look like money
and there no ridges on the side like a quarter
i found it a while ago and i was just wondering what it is.
It should be referred to as a token or a merchant’s token. It might have been handed out at the ceremony to open the bridge. The study of these items is a branch of numismatics known as exonumia. If it was made in 1929, there is a slight chance it is worth a few dollars, but it is more likely worth only one or two especially with the rust. You might try to find a coin dealer or two who specialize in exonumia at the second link below, or there might be a reference at your local library. I hope that helps.
