Medieval Hungary
what religious terms in Hungarian are of slavic origin?

im trying to outline the influence of Byzantine (Greek) Christinity in medieval Hungary and read somewhere that a lot of Hungary’s religious vocab is of slavic rather than latin origin

The cultural effect of the Byzantine Christianity was important, but not the most important influence. Some of these Hungarian phrases are:
alamizsna, alleluja, ámen, angyal, bazilika, biblia, eklézsia, evangélium, katekizmus, katolikus, kórus, mártír, mirha, monostor, orgona, parókia, pátriárka, próféta, sátán, zsinagóga, zsinat.
[alms, alleluja, amen, angel, basilica, Bible, congregation, gospel, catechism, Catholic, choir, martyr, myrrh, monastery, organ, parish, patriarch, prophet, Satan, synagogue, synod]
Many of them are also well known in other European languages eg. basilica, martyr, monastery or prophet, because they have a same origin: the Greek language.
