Can anyone provide me any information on the please?

Firstly: You will need to get enrolled at which ever states regulating body you would be under, for example there is the south australian nursing and midwifery registration board, and the westaustralian nursing and midwifery board etc. Each state has different guidelines for registration of an Enrolled nurse, so just because you can get registered on one does not mean you can get enrolled on another. (it is a different story for Registered nurses, even tho they have to get individually registered for each state/territory you work in the qualification carries over where ever you are in Aust).
The roles are diverse, it will depend on what you want to do with nursing, as far as conditions go not too bad (well for nursing). Working in a hospital is much the same as anywhere else, some hospitals have nursing quarters and will support you transition much better, others have casual pools which pays you at a higher rate but under a casual contract and all over the place in the hospital. If you want to come over on a working holiday look at the nursing agencys, they often sort out the registration for you, and give you a job in each town you want to go to. Nursing is considered a shortage profession so is moderately easy to get a visa, check out http://www.nursingaustralia.com/ which will give you some idea of what you will need to do.
