King William

Japanese Prince And Princess Welcomed To Royal Wedding

The Royal Wedding day approaches, but where will you be? If you’re not already in the process of plotting Holidays to Barbados in a vain attempt to be as far away as possible from the events, it could well be that you’re secretly following every last scarp of information about Kate Middleton’s upcoming wedding. Westminster Abbey is the venue for the Friday 29th of April ceremony, a fact that we’ve now known for some time. The Dean of Westminster will conduct the service, and the Bishop of London will deliver the main sermon.

There are two things worthy of much speculation for the big day: firstly, the dress (which we know nothing about) and secondly, the contents of the guest list. The royal family has limited significance, but it will nonetheless be interesting to see who is in favour with the future King? The royal family is still sustained by a great deal of money, so it’s not that surprising to find a lot of political overtones to the manoeuvring within their ranks. The wayward Duchess of York is the royal most are speculating on being axed from the list. Having been divorced from the Andrew, Duke of York for 14 years, she’s fallen further by being exposed promising access to royals, and just generally running up debts.

Meanwhile, the invitations are being sent out to World leaders. Royal families and political figures in the former British colonies will likely make the cut. Those under the Tropical Sky of Trinidad and Tobago are a shoo in. The Japanese Royals Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko have replied that they’re too busy, but are sending their children Naruhito and Masako in their place.

And yes, the British public (and any tourists in the nation at the time) are invited to wave flags and generally get caught up in the ‘atmosphere’. Still, British Anarchists are loudly declaring that they’re inviting themselves. Crying for attention, anarchists have pledged to take occupy buildings and generally create havoc. And who foots the bill, anarchists or no? When it comes to security, the taxpayer foots the bill. Unless all anarchists are live at home upper-middle-classers who don’t have to pay tax (wait…) they’re only causing themselves grief. And for the rest of us shut ins, we can’t wait for the ceremony to end and for the happy couple to take away their Weddings Abroad.
