Baidyanath temple contains one of the twelve sacred Jyotilingas . It is situated in a small town called ‘Deoghar’ in the state of Jharkhand . Before creation of Jharkhand deoghar was a part of Bihar. Hence old texts may be still showing this temple in Bihar , which is wrong at present.
For reaching Deoghar , you have to get down at Jasidih station on the Patna-Howrah train route.From this station, Deoghar is just about 8 kms.You can cover this distance by auto rickshaws available at the station. There is also an undependable passenger train shuttling between Jasidih and Deoghar.Jasidih is 222 kms from patna and 310 kms from Howrah.
For Darjeeling and Gangtok , proceeed to Kolkata from where you can cover these places.
