Hebrew Arabic
Where did the Hebrew Language originate? Where did the Arabic Language originate?

Both Hebrew and Arabic, I think, are very ancient languages. I’m interested in knowing geographically where the two languages were born, and how long ago?

Hebrew originates from the Levant area (the area that is now known as Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan). Its age is unknown for certain, but it is was probably formed in 1200 BCE or so.

Arabic originates from the Arabian Peninsula. The earliest Arabic scriptures are dated back to the 8th century BCE (but it was probably spoken earlier).

Both languages belong to the Semitic Languages:
Hebrew is of the Canaanite branch, which is for itself a branch of the Levantine languages (Northwest Semitic languages); other languages of the Levantine branch are Aramaic, Phoenician, Ammonite, Moabite, Ugaritic…
Arabic is part of the Arabian languages.
Both Hebrew and Arabic (with their different dialects) are Central Semitic languages and share many similarities.
