Great White Shark Diving
When mentioning going diving with my friends a couple of years ago they jumped at the chance to do this as it is something that none of us had ever experienced. So off we went on one of those scuba diving holidays and I have to say that it was absoulty fantastic.
The Destination
We actually went Maldives diving as we thought this to be a great way to start our diving experiences and boy were we right. There are over 2,000 different species of fish in this area of the world and I am pretty sure we spotted a fair few of them. We also spotted a couple of whale sharks and this is what got me into the whole shark diving mindset.
On Return
When arriving back home I found myself immediately wanting to go back and enjoy all of it again which is why we did 6 months later and then again a year later. I really had wanted to see more by this time and Great White just kept coming into my head. After getting back from yet another trip I put another idea out there, why not try cage diving with great whites?There were of course some of the group of friends that thought I was insane.
The Great White
Upon entering the cage I have to say that I was a little nervous, I had always been a little scared of the Great White. The words to decribe that day have never really come into my head. Since then we have returned a couple of times and next year we are hoping to do it without cages!
Great Whites are not as bad as people think and they have been known to let people touch them and even hold their dorsal fin, always have a professional on hand though!
