Can we take the morals from great pieces of literature, and learn to incorporate them to live better lives?
For instance, after reading “The Great Gatsby” can we learn from it that obsessing about something isn’t healthy and is a waste of ones life
Or after reading “The Razor’s Edge,” can we learn that finding yourself and learning what you want in life to be one of the greatest advantages?
We absorb the lessons given by literature because they are just the same as the experiences we get in life. Once you learn fire burns, you don’t stick your hand back in it. The same is true for the real life lessons given in literature.
