Why did Napoleon Bonaparte return to France after being exiled?

I’m writing an essay question on Napoleon, and I just need to know what his motivation was in escaping the island of Elba to return to France.

Napoleon never wanted to abdicate the first time and so was looking for any reason to return to France. His spies reported to him that the French despised the new king Louis XVIII and the allied troops that had been in France. The majority of the French strongly preferred Napoleon over the returned Bourbon king and Napoleon chose to act on these reports.
