i have an old coin i want to know what it is worth?
it is a 1862 napoleon III coin, five francs gold in good condition. can anyone tell me what it is worth? i would really appreciate the help.
Your coin is made of .900 gold and has an actual gold weight of .0467 oz. From World Coin News I see some for sale between $60-$90 but these are in extra fine grade. I doubt your coin is just a good. That grade is very low and means that your coin has very little detail. It is still worth gold content, The latest price I have on gold is Feb. 8th at $656.00 an ounce. Check a newspaper for latest price. The above are retails so you would get less from a coin dealer.
