Euro Comm

Euro questions from an American.?
Ok. Well I’m looking at items that are priced in Euros and some have a comm (,) and some have a period (.) in the price. Example of a period: €16.99
Example of a comma: €4,98
Is there a difference in these two?
-Thanks!
Officially, in most countries where the Euro is used, they use a , for the decimal. and a . where we put a comma. So something priced at
1.348,39€ is (if the € were exactly the same as a dollar) $1, 348.and 39 cents. (of course, the € is actually = $1.27, but you get the idea).
