(Dragon) Will decreasing the use of blood increase the impact it has?
I have seen this said by a lot of people on here that the WWE is worse because of the lack of blood but is it really?
The fact that everyone expects blood in most matches is proof that it has been over done.
Blood adds something to the storytelling of a big feud but that doesn’t mean it needs to be done every time because as it stood no one was shocked when someone donned the crimson mask like they use to.
So with the WWE cutting back on the blood completely will this add that extra “OMG” moment to matches in the future?
You are definitely right. The impact blood is greatly increased once it’s used less and less, and only to excel a storyline or feud, or great match. I remember when I was younger, and blood had a big impact because I was then a very casual wrestling fan and watched it when I could find it. I also remember when Evolution was around and HHH use to do the contract signings on RAW for upcoming title matches, and there would always be a brawl that ended up with HHH beating his oppoent unitl the bled while Evolution held that person back. I got tired of it because RAW always ended the same, and Evolution’s bearting got put over as ruthless even though they were repetitive. So, yes I think blood is a symbol of taking things to another level, as far as saying “Is there anything else these guys can do to each other?”.
