Can i get in to a big name university with a learning disability?
Under the Americans with disabilities act (ADA) my ADHD is classified as a learning disability and am looking at colleges,more specifically North Carolina State University and UNC at chapel hill is there any way of achieving admissions to either of these schools under different guidelines or do i still have to follow the minimum course requirements , if there is can you please give me the info or point me in the right direction all help is very much appreciated
I believe the (ADA) makes it possible for those with disabilities to be able to participate in educational endeavors where there may be difficulties. These difficulties may include access i.e. wheelchair ramps, specilaized computer hardware and software, readily accessible campus and classroom features, possibly even tutoring. I don’t believe they offer different admission guidelines for those with disabilities. However, I could be wrong. Have you contacted the school and asked these questions of the administration? I would definitely start there.
