Collection Bin
Can you put lightbulbs in a glass recycling bin? If not where exactly do you put them?
Here in Ireland we have 3 bins for refuse collection: Green bin for food, organic waste etc. Blue bin for recyling (papers, plastics, cardboard etc) Red bin for glass. Trying to figure out whether you put lightbulbs in the red bin? A lightbulb isn’t all glass though. And if not where do we put them?!!! We’re not so green that we use candles : P Thanks.
If you don’t put bulbs in a glass recycling bin then where do you put them?
In my town light bulbs cannot be recycled. I think that is true for most areas. Either call your recycling center to verify if it can be recycled (or go to their website — they probably have a list of what can and can’t be recycled) or throw it in the trash.
By putting non recyclable items in with recyclable items it both lowers the efficiency of the recycling center and raises it’s costs. The more we properly sort our recyclable items the more efficient we make them.
