Thanks for the help.
The value of your coin may not be lower here in the states if that is where you found it. It is considered by a lot of early American coin collectors to be part of our colonial coins. I live in New England and early British coins are dug up here a lot. I would need the denomination or at least its diameter in mm’s or inches is okay to determine denomination. get a soft tooth brush and gently brush the coin under running water. That may help and should not cause damage if you are gentle. If that does not work put the coin in extra virgin olive oil, but this may take a month or so. As a last resort to get heavy crud off put 2 cups of water in a pan with 1/4 cup vinegar and boil for a while then use a soft brush. The take coin and put it in baking soda and water to stop the action about 1/2 hour. This can be done to really old coins that have no great value. It would be out of the question on a real rare coin. It is used on ancients that are heavily encrusted.
