Centesimo Coin

Is a 1904 coin from Panama worth anything?
I found a coin that I’ve never seen before. The man on the front (Balboa? It says it under his picture) is pretty scratched up but everything else is fine and you can read all of the other words on the front and back perfectly. The front says Republica de Panama, Balboa, and 1904 (it also says something on his hat but I can only see the last four letters, RTAD, I think. The back says Diez Centesimos De Balboa, G.5. LEY 0.900. Anyone know anything about this coin?
In coins the only ones that are worth a lot of money are those that have not been circulated. From the wear you describe, I’d say there isn’t a lot of value to the coin.
Rarity, or scarcity, is the 2nd most important aspect of coin dealing. How rare is this coin? If it is the only one like it in the world then it may be prized by some collectors and they would bid on it and drive the price up. But not many people are looking for Panamanian coins these days.
If the coin was gold or silver it might bring more than if it is nickel.
Still, you are searching for your answer on the Internet. And that is the correct place to begin. If you put it on Ebay, you will find out if collectors want such a coin, but it will cost you to find out and you may not get what it cost you.
Keep looking, but don’t build up your hopes of making a killing on this coin.
