Mexican Peso Coins From 20 Years Ago?
I recently went to Tijuana. In my aunts house they got a stash of pesos from the 80′s. I got 5 gold 100 peso coins from 1984, 2 10 peso coins from 1986, 1 1981 5 peso coin, a 1981 cincuenta centevos coin from 1980, 2 1988 50 pesos coins, 5 1985 200 pesos coins, 1 1987 500 pesos coin, 1 20 pesos coin from 1981, 1 un peso coin from 1981, 1 veinticinco centavso coin from 1964, 1 5 pesos coin from 1976, and 1 i guess its 90 centavos or peso from 1976. I was thinking of selling these at a pawn shop or somewhere. Does anybody know how much I would be expecting to get if I sold these somewhere?
Unfortunately, the old base metal Mexican coins from the 1970s and 1980s really don’t have much in the way of collector value. I know of one dealer in Chula Vista (Axiom Coin on E Street) that buys them by the pound. Not much there, I’m afraid. I sold about 200 pounds of them when I moved five years ago.
