BALUT? Chicken feet? Why? Please explain. (Philippines)?
Looks and just the thought of eating it is not my idea of something I would pay for if having other choices.
Even if I were very poor, I would try to find something else to eat and I certainly would not spend one centavo to buy this stuff. So WHY?
You don’t really believe it improves sexual performance, or do you?

I don’t eat balut myself, not chicken feet (or adidas as it is called), nor chicken intestines (isaw).
It may be gourmet to most but not to me. Healthwise, chicken intestines increase levels of uric acid in the body, one of the major causes of kidney malfunction. Another thing, how can one be sure that the foods one buys and eats in the sidewalk were thoroughly washed and cleaned?
Although many have claimed that balut is an aphrodisiac, there is no proof to the claim. I say it is all psychological – the repeated brain-washing that balut improves or helps sexual performance. Have men in their seventies who ate balut proved their prowess in bed and rightfully contend that their performance was due to eating balut? I have yet to see one. =)
