mexican coins?
we have about 15 pounds of coins from the 60s 70s and 80s. would they be worth anything? they range in amounts from centavos to 50 pesos. nothing in silver though. thanks…
In the early 1990s after years of runaway inflation the Mexican government issued the “New Peso” it was exchanged for 1000 “old” pesos!
That means that your 50 peso coin is now worth only 5 centavos in modern Mexican money. 5 centavos is worth 1/2 cent in US currency. Or it WOULD be worth 5 centavos IF the Mexican government still accepted the old currency, they don’t.
I would simply boil the coins or soak them in alcohol and then give them to the kids for play money……
