Britain Coin
Why does America still have dollar bills?

A dollar bill is worth so little it is ridiculous that they don’t issue the $1 value as a coin. It would be like Britain having a 20p note or Japan having a ¥100 note! Also they seem very basic in design, all same size, no colours, made without plastics, holograms or metal strips. I would have expected something more advanced!

No good reason. You are correct that a $1 coin makes more sense than a $1 bill. It also lasts longer, and it is easier to use in vending machines and parking meters. At this point, the only reason for continuing the $1 bill is pride and the refusal to admit that the United States has so inflated its currency that $1 buys what 25 cents would buy 30 years ago.
