Bimetallic Coin
The Canadian dollar is worth more than the US Dollar? zOMG!?

I got some Canadian coins today. I got some loonies, old nickel dollars, and bimetallic 2 dollar coins. I looked up the face value, and it looks like I got a good deal, considering the shop owner sold them to me for face value in US currency.

Did I get a good deal? What do you think about the near parity of these two currencies?
It’s unusual, not a big deal. The US dollar used to be pegged at $4 to the Pound Sterling. The Canadian dollar used to be pegged at $5 to the Pound. That was way back in the olden days, around 1800, when I was but a wee lad.

It’s been worth more than the US dollar many times, though not much more… Is that a big deal to you?
