Barn Swallow
found barn swallow eggs?
unbeknownst to them there was a nest underneath a friends dock and they knocked it out when playing on it. the eggs were floating in the water but i have them under a lamp now. they are barn swallow eggs and im not sure if they are still alive. how would i tell? would cold water kill them? what do i do with them if they hatch? i have animal experience but not with raising birds. if they are dead i have an injured ribbon snake im taking care of, would she eat them?
any help would be great guys!
You need to dry the eggs off and replace the nest and the eggs back to the original location and the parents will still care for them. It is illegal for you to try and raise these eggs on your own..they are protected by law. Putting them back is their best chance of survival. You might also call a local wildlife rehab to take them if they are still alive, but if you have had them for a while now..they may be dead by now.
