English Team Now Back In England
All English supporters were hoping for a big thing from England this World cup. But that wasn’t to be, they were knocked out by Germany in last 16. Not just knocked out they were beaten brutally and brilliantly by the Germans. I saw the match in the local pub; the pub owner was so disappointed that he broke his legendary oak furniture because England were absolutely awful against Germany. He told me that furniture was his grand father’s furniture which survived the war and fire in their old house.
That is a hell of a story? I think so. Now let’s go back to how England got knocked out in the last 16. Many have said it was England one of the worst performances in the big stage as they didn’t play well in group games and the last 16 meeting with Germany. To be perfectly honest England did well in the first half against Germany but were terrible in the second half yes they were unlucky in the first half not to be 2-2 but second half they were awful. They had a chance to give it all in the second half to show everyone that can play but that never happened. Germany were just awesome in the second half but the way England gave away the goals were just awful.
Having saying how poor England were I thought Germany were very good defending wise and brilliant attacking wise. The German have the belief and the spirit and have shown they can do very well even without top players. Michael Ballack has been missing from the centre midfield and Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken the role and leadership with ease. The new comers and youngster Mesut Ozil and Thomas Muller have had a great tournament so far. Wayne Rooney never performed for England but was it because of the ankle injury? I still think that Sir Alex Ferguson played Rooney too often even when he was returning back from the injury. I am sure he had not fully recovered from that injury and it does make a difference.
Even I feel like throwing my New England furniture & black ash furniture at that horrible English’s performance at the World cup.
