Is portuguese culture more important/interesting than Italian’s culture?
Portuguese as in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique. Italian as in Italy only. In terms of language, I assume portuguese is more important. But in terms of culture, my father prefers italian due to food monuments wines cheese. So which is more important?
i admit my bias having lived in italy for several years but here goes…..
most of what we consider to be modern western culture has its roots in italy. this is from the renaissance. whether it be art, literature or science, or even banking and accounting (with apologies to arab bookkeepers) all can be traced back to central italy. In regards to language, how many westerners are likely to regularly travel to angola or mozambique? Travel to Italy and stand in the Roman Forum and try to deny the historic importance of this part of the world. However as between Italian women and Brazilian women I would have to rate that as a tie…
